Overview
Zembel, an established e-commerce platform with headquarters in Shanghai, China, serving the Korean and American markets. Sought to expand its reach by creating a fully localized version for the U.S. market. The objective was to adapt the user experience to American consumer behaviors while maintaining the brand’s existing visual identity and increasing user acquisition for bith desktop and mobile versions.
Approach
To ensure a successful market entry, I conducted a comprehensive competitor analysis of leading U.S. e-commerce platforms and researched local user expectations and purchasing behaviors. Using these insights, I redesigned key user flows and developed wireframes and high-fidelity mockups that addressed pain points unique to the U.S. audience.
Solution
The final design delivered a seamless end-to-end experience—from landing page to checkout—optimized for U.S. users. The refreshed interface was fully aligned with Zembel’s core brand identity while introducing subtle, market-appropriate adaptations to boost engagement and conversion.
Impact
The localized platform enhanced brand perception, improved usability, and set the foundation for increased user acquisition in the U.S. market.
